For the past twenty years I have collected paintings of British birds in art. I decided from the outset to include only those artists with a genuine reputation for being the best in their field. A few of the great names from the past  such as John Cyril Harrison, Philip Rickman, Charles Tunnicliffe and George Edward Lodge, with contemporary artists Rodger Mcphail,  Edwin Penny and Robert Milliken are amongst my favorites. They with other top bird artists have established a long tradition of bird art and inspired many young artists who now follow in their traditions. Their pictures of birds in art has also stimulated a keen interest and following amongst serious collectors, which has led to their art achieving great success in both top auction houses and galleries.  

Consequently the artists on this website are amongst the best known and sought after names in bird art. Anyone who has a passion for birds in art, and a keen interest in our unique countryside will no doubt  appreciate  the skill and the atmosphere created  in  these paintings.  I have used my experience to buy only those pictures that I believe are good examples of the artists' work
